We are delighted to announce that the Grand Opening of the new Poole Park (Miniature) Railway took take place on Saturday 22nd July 2017. The new train operated from 10:00 to 17:00 and rides were available throughout the day. Early birds who came to help us celebrate were able to enjoy free rides between 10:00 and 12:00!
The Poole Park (Miniature) Railway was re-opened by special guests; the Mayor of Poole, Cllr Lindsay Wilson and Beryl Vimpany. Beryl has a very special connection with the project, having founded the Poole Park Railway with her husband George Vimpany in 1949. Beryl was accompanied by three generations of the Vimpany family including her daughter Helen, grandaugher Jo and great grand-daughter Darcie, for a wonderful celebration of her husband’s work.
